   Well one can't expect to be good at it right away...it takes a little 
experience.  In your situation, keep in mind that you've been in school 
and at work all the time.  I got "good" at it when I had lots of free 
time, and was able to spend a LOT of time learning about who buys what, 
when, and for how much.  Just give it some time.
