You'd think not, but when I try to configure and test that way, the
daemon fails to initialize.  Matter of fact, it fails to initialize,
fails to start, or segfaults with every back-end I've tried -- gdbm,
Berkeley db, MySQL, ...  I'm starting to wonder if it's another thing
that requires a newer glibc than mine.
