PS2 has keyboard and mouse support--that's how Sony plans to
grab that part of the market that wants internet access but
doesn't want to buy a computer.

Unfortunately on the games side, they have not laid down a
dictum that requires all games to have an interface that can use
the keyboard and mouse (they are not included by default).
As a result you have stupid producer tricks like 989's alienating
PC gamers who might buy a PS2 just to play SOCOM by saying
that, "it is unfair for PC users to have the UI they are used to
so we are not going to support keyboard and mouse." (para-
phrase)

Sometimes I wonder how Sony stays in business--for example,
there was no internal supply chain for the purchase of Sony
products in-house. If you wanted desktops/servers/
accessories/etc., you went to 3rd party. You received no
"credit" on your budget for buying Sony products, which are
always more expensive through 3rd party vendors than say, Dell,
ViewSonic, Apple, etc. Guess what kind of computers ended up
on the developer's desks? Not Sony, Dell/Apple. PIM/mobile
mail solution? Not Sony Clie, RIM. Tape backup system for the
lab? ADIC with IBM LTO, not AIT. Winchester Mystery House
of a corporation...
