I got this from a friend, and I'm forwarding it along. He's in the
process of moving, so it could possibly wind up in the trash.

I have a sparcstation 1000 (not E) with no cpus. it has 3 disk trays with
4 disks on two, and 3 disks on one -- 11 disks total. all have the purple
ss1k spud. it is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. it should
run just fine if you pop in a system board, which are about $30 on ebay.
i'm getting rid of it because i dont have enough power or cooling capacity
for it in my new apartment. the disks i think are sun 535mb ones, but it
should take any 1" sca disk. anysystem.com has six-packs of 9gb 10krpm
seagates for $90 i think. anyhow, free for pickup in the dc area. i really
dont want to ship it, but i will if you make it worth my while (contact
me, i'm easy to impress). i just shipped one of these suckers and it wound
up being $90 or so, including packing. it will take sm51 and sm61 cpu's if
you get a system board. i know several people with system boards if youre
interested in making it a fileserver. it also has an internal bus with 4x
535mb 50-pin disks, a tape drive, 'anaconda' i think, and a cdrom which
seems to work.

contact alex at posixnap.net.

sooner is better.
