hi Nick,

check out http://koha.org for the software.  i can't say for sure the
cuecats will work but some libraries are using other barcode keyboard
wedges that work fine.   will give you the z.3950 client for lookup of 
the card catalog info from LOC in the current version.   
(under development is a z.3950 server and full MARC compliance in the 
local database).
