[rescue] IRIX/SGI opinions of O2 for graphics?

Would you consider an O2 running linux suitable for day-to-day stuff?  
Like webrowsing, email, office stuff.... maybe Gimp? 

I heard that ILM was running custom software on O2's and i386 boxes to do 
their fx stuff now.  :-)
