So, what do they cost, with some amount of storage, say 40GB of disk?

Right now I am buying Athlons and quite frankly, things are getting a
little toasty in the server room, even though it will soon be freezing
here in PA; I have the AC on energy saver cycle set at 69F and that
seems to work well.  

Maybe overall it would be cheaper to run a single S390.
