i can't seem to get to their web page right now. but go look at Visual Thought
by Confluent (www.confluent.com) they have started a non-commercial license
program. this is UNIX based "visio-like" software that has been selling for
years now. it just got (as in finally) a windows port. it's like $1700/seat
software that you can use for FREE.

it's as good as if not better than visio. runs like a champ on my sparc20, so
you don't even need a badass machine to run it.

there is also an IRIX version for you SGI weenies.

i think there might be other ports, but i didn't take notice since all i was
interested in at the time was the solaris/sparc version.
