[rescue] SS5 ressurrection tips?

Fellow listees,
Some of you may recall that I picked up a lot of six SS5's for a song on eBay
several months ago. The seller erroneously thought they didn't have CPUs. In
reality, all have CPUs: 4x 110 and 2x 70.
My intent was (and still is) to break the lot up and offer them to list members
for basically what I paid. Though you've all probably concluded I forgot or
absconded with them myself, the truth is this is the first weekend I've had to
spend time testing them all so I know what I have to offer.
...And thus we arrive at my currently dilemma: Only half of them work. One has
what I'm fairly confident is a dead P/S (fans don't spin). The other two
failures, though, are not so easy to diagnose. The P/S comes on fine but the
machine never displays the init banner and the green "I'm ok" LED never comes
on. I'm using a serial console on port A as my console device. I'm using a
single known-good 32MB stick of RAM. The units have no other peripherals
attached (well, one has a floppy drive, but that's it).
Any ideas? Common failure modes in these units? I'd love to get all of these
running so I can make good on my promise to the list...
