   Unfortunately, the Rhode Island mind-set (which I've been manfully
struggling to avoid since I moved here from the Boston 'burbs last year)
requires that we consider Massachusetts -- and anything else outside of
Little Rhodey, even though it's under thirty minutes -- a "long drive" and
therefore something to be avoided. For example, I cummute less than twenty
minutes in my car now into downtown Providence, which is a good drive around
here, while a few years ago I could ride the T in Boston for over an hour to
work, and I still lived within ten miles of my office (Brookline to Back Bay
on the B Line, for those scoring at home).

well be as far away as, oh, France or California or Connecticut!
