DSL? I've done lots of network installs when all I had was a modem. You don't
have to install from the Internet, it's quite possible to enter your own host,
path and login in the BSD sysinst dialogue.
And a local 10Mb ethernet is a whole lot faster than a 2W CD-ROM drive, IME.
And less messy, too, IME.

A friend gave me the necessary NetBSD ports on CD-R when all I had was a modem
and my local LAN. Anything never than that CD, I keep on my hard drive, for
other hosts to fetch via FTP. And why use disks when you can netboot them off
another BSD machine?

I've never tried anything else. And it's a lot easier than hunting down the
right CD drive for your SPARC.
