Yes, my 3coms generally just work under linux, but again they are all 
ethernet.  What is better than 3com for ethernet (really, I want to
know)?

Anyway, they are talking about an FDDI card, and I don't see any FDDI 3com
cards listed in the list of linux drivers available.
