[rescue] threaded or linear reading? (appropriate subjects)

No war here.  I use both XEmacs and vim proficiently.  Each has jobs in
its forte[1].  I couldn't get used to gnus, though.  Maybe I'll give it
another shot.  I'm always open to something different.  I keep coming back
to PINE or Eudora, though, depending on what architecture machine is on my
desk the majority of the time.

[1] Editing big LaTeX files in vi/vim is painful, but vi/vim -rules- for
    editing files with a lot of hard tabs (Makefiles, zone files, etc.)
