That is an evil word on all levels.  What other profession has anything
of that sort?  I've been in classes with too many tenure professors that
are horrible teachers.  

A similar problem is research based universities, where there will be
professors who don't even like to teach and suck at it, but are there
anyway, because they like their research.  I've had some of these too.
