Get someone to port apt to it :-D

(Actually, rpm and apt both are multiplatform. Someone would just have
to recompile and perhaps add some defines to spec files and conditional
patches for irix quirks. Building apt repositories is easy and it
handles dependencies and updates and all. Then you'd have two package
databases and would need to add dummies that explicitly claim to provide
the native libraries etc, though.)
