I have a Quantum DLT4000 drive that I picked up a while back. So far
I've been using DLT III (10/20GB) tape cartridges in it, primarily due
to my not being able to afford the DLT IV cartridges.
I see a lot more DLT III XT cartridges on eBay than I do DLT III
cartridges, though. However, the drive doesn't have any indicators on
the front that show it supports 15/30 operation. But, since it has a
20GB LED, I'm guessing it -does- support 20/40 operation.
Can I use the DLT III XT cartridges in the drive and get at least reliable
10/20 operation? Does anyone know of a source of relatively cheap DLT III
cartridges (used is okay) besides eBay? I'm to the point that I have
more data than the tapes will hold, and I really don't want to go back
to DDS2.
