Is there anything special about woofers other than size?  I have an 18"
speaker on a 100watt mono amp handy, and a 15" speaker not currently on
an amp handy.  I suspect using they with something else and a cross over
would improve their performance, but I don't actually use them much in
situations where it would matter (the 18" is used for guitar practice
until I get around to trying to repair my univox tube amp).

I'm sad to say that I probably know more about electrostatic design than
any other physical mean of speaker construction.
