I've put a letter, addressed to myself, in my mailbox for delivery.
It took two days to get back.
(this was when I lived in Oklahoma).

Nowdays, if I tried that, my postman (who actually lives down the
street from me) would just take it out, tack it to my door, and put a
"nice try" note on it. 8-)
