I've had bad luck getting dump to archive multiple machines to the 
same tape.  so what I do is I get a massive staging disk and just 
copy it all there and use tar to append to the tape for each machine 
that I copy dump files to the staging disk.  of course my new 1.6/3.2 
tb tape library helps a lot with that in that I could theoretically 
run 4 tapes simultaneously.
