I've not really used either of these TrippLite models, but they make a
pretty solid product, at least where they compete with the APC SmartUPS

This is a pretty crappy unit.  The Back-UPS outputs a square wave,
rather than the sine-wave that all of your equipment is "used
to"/expects.  The Back-UPS pro, IIRC, does a sine wave, as do the
SmartUPS models.  

I'd really look for places that are surplusing their older Smart type
UPSs, since they're usually in good condition, except for the
batteries.  I doubt that 700VA would be an appropriate rating for
running 5 machines, unless they're all SS1s.  :)
