Of course, they would argue that this won't help because the CPU will =
already have died by the time the electronics react. In the case of a fan =
dying, however, there will still be a heatsink and so this should protect =
the chip enough for it to survive to the power down.

My TBird will power down automatically if one of the following conditions
is met:

1.  CPU Fan appears to have failed
2.  CPU gets too hot
3.  Ambient temp gets too high
