[rescue] Sparcstation 2 help! Please

I have a SS2 that upon bootup, states the following:

Unrecognized keyboard
Checksum bad... loading defaults
it then looks at what appear to be storage devices and lists them, finding
none, it says, input devices not found.

It then gets into an unbreakable loop, that displays:

Data Access Exception
Press b to boot c to continue and n for new session.

No keystroke will stop this and it keeps going, forever.

Other times it displays the same as above, but goes through a long boot,
that seems to check even specific processor functions, lists them out and
then goes to a memory check, that seems to look OK, then to the data access
error.

I am using hyperterm to access the system via the serial port.

Any ideas?
