The problem isn't X as such, it's the window manager.  2.6 on a 24Mb IPC
was quite usable, BUT I was using OpenLook, not CDE.  With a nice, light
window manager (twm?), I'm sure 2.7 would be OK on a 16Mb LX.

The differences in CDE appear minimal between Solaris releases, so if people
only want to learn CDE, give them an older Solaris release with less bloat.

Yes, I still have the IPC, it's now headless running OpenBSD and doing SSL
duties for me until I get organised and add some cooling to my multia or I
find a dirt cheap AlphaStation 200.
