The Mohawk systems are (were) a proprietary "turnkey" solution, sort of
along the lines of
the old Datapoint console machines. They even had their own programming
language, a variant
of COBOL called MOBOL. As late as 1996 I know a major tile manufacturer
still used a couple
hundred of them. Nowadays, I don't see any real use for them. They're
strictly character based
machines, no graphics capabilities that I know of, and very poor
communications facilities.
