Is it just me, or are a lot of people unhappy with "ergonomic" mice?

My favorite PC mouse around the house is an ancient Made-in-USA mid-80's
Logitech.  Has 3 buttons and is almost entirely square (wedge shaped in
cross section).  You could poke an eye out with one of the corners.
Somehow it just feels perfect (too many wasted hours with NCD X Terminals
I guess).
