[SunRescue] FreeBSD date and Solaris date commands

the date command is for showing the current time, or, if you like, to set
the current time, per the man page...

     The date utility writes the date and time to standard output
     or  attempts  to  set the system date and time.  By default,
     the current date and time will be written.
