[rescue] AT&T VME machine?

The 6544 is a remote cluster controller for IBM main frames.  It supported
BSC or SNA. It was designed to compete with IBM 3270 mod 12 or 3274 mod 1
equipment.  It was normally connected to an IBM front end processor (370x et
al) by a 9.6 kb private line.

AT&T transferred the product line to NCR which sold it to Memorex around
1997.
