If the source UPS is a cruddy square-wave ("modified sine" my ass) then
this will give you problems.  Going from a sine-wave UPS of sufficient
capacity (read: minimum 2x capacity of the UPS plugged into it) should
give no problems.

Most high end UPS' generate a very good approximation of a true sinewave
(<%1 THD) regardless of whether they're online designs or not.  A standard
consumer unit is usually nothing more than a 60Hz square wave, roughly
180V p-to-p.
