[rescue] HP Box ID/Assessment

Chris,

Your supposition makes sense, in that there were a couple of other chassis'
that looked like rackable 6U VME cages (with little or nothing inside) on
the same skid, along with a picked over 700 series workstation.

I'll need a break tomorrow; I'll run over and see what other info I can
find.

Steve

Steve:

Sounds like that *might* be one of HP's VME/VMX-based PA-RISC boxes, used
for industrial applications. They were essentially modular backplane-based
versions of HP desktop workstations, but were mostly unsupported after 10.20
or so. Some only ran HP's HP-RT real-time OS.

They're definetely not a "server" version of a 700 workstation, if this is
indeed what they are. If you can find me some more numbers on the units
(700i is a fairly generic # for the series), I might be able to tell more
about them.

I would definetely be interested in one from a quirky collectable
appreciation, if that's what they turn out to be.
