I actually asked about using the DSP to do things like Mersenne prime search
and other stuff.  The problem is the amount of memory, I think.

There WAS a little box that you connected to it that made for a 14.4 or 9600
baud modem, plus did fax send/receive and had a software controlled
voicemail system, that let you do chaining of touch tone menus, etc.  Pretty
cool.
