The vast majority of the arguments comparing different versions of
unix (& clones) really boil down to: "I *like* [x]."

I prefer OpenBSD, but that's just because I like BSD. If linux suddenly
became three times the speed of BSD on the same hardware, I would stay
with BSD.  I actually took a major performance hit moving from RS/6000
to sun, because I wanted to switch from AIX to BSD. (That has nothing to 
do with POWER versus SPARC in general, just the machines that happen to
be sitting in my living room.)

Don't take "unix [x] is better than unix [y]" arguments too seriously.
