Ah!  What happens if you "ssh -l ken basenji.com"?  Just curious, I don't
really think that would fix anything...

Is it possible that the client and server are not able to agree on a
protocol version (1 vs 2)?  Also, could it be that the key isn't getting
transfered correctly?  What about algorithm - are they the same?
