I've got an IPC I'm trying to get running again, after just replacing the NVRAM it now looks like i need a new power supply.

what happened is i found the IPC a few weeks back and thought i'd blow the dust of it and get it running. i rescued it from a former employer a few years back and installed solaris successfully.

well i got it running and the NVRAM had lost its settings. so i got a new timekeeper chip.

i then power it up and notice the all too familiar "burning electronic component" smell lurking in the air.

so it looks like i have a PSU problem. Is there any reason why the new NVRAM could cause a PSU burnout? Also has anyone successfully repaired a PSU and could offer me any advice.

If not does anyone know where i could get a new PSU?

thanks

Andy
