[rescue] SparcStation Voyager - hard drive

My powerbook 165c seems to have an IDE 1GB drive in it. The IBM part number
shows up as IDE and it absolutely refuses to work in SCSI disk mode. (where
you can connect the laptop to a scsi host and have it work like a scsi
drive). 

If it has one of these adapters that would explain a lot.
