I'm pretty sure PC Power & Cooling makes a drop in replacement. Kind of
expensive, but it will probably last longer than the machine.

Dan Sikorski, reeling from the shock, managed on Tue, Dec 04, 2001 at

I'm one right now <sigh>

About a year ago I put a CDRW in the second bay, and ever since, I'd
noticed that both CD drives would get awful hot.

The power supply blew about two weeks ago. Wonder why. Well, off to the
store for a new one, old unit in my hand for comparison purposes.
Seems e-machines uses an unobtanium design, only 120W, and really small.

Not being able to stomach the idea of waiting two weeks to get a part
that's proven itself unreliable, at twice the price of what's on the
shelf, I opted to get the smallest one I could find, (150W), take it
home, do some ugly __CASE MODIFICATIONS__, and stick the thing in there
with a shoehorn. <Shudder>

While I was at it, I got a card-slot exhaust fan. Now all runs cool.
