Good question. I have a SPARC LX and I am currently using 2.6. 96 MB
of RAM are plenty for what I am doing (pppoe, proxy cache and
ghostscript printer spooler), but maybe not for Solaris 8?

The only advantage of 8 I can see is UDF-writing, if I ever get my
CD-Writer working.
