[rescue] *quiet* 12V DC fans?

The concerns are size, voltage and *CFM* rating, not current ;^)

Have you given this box the "canned air" clean-out?

Barring that, maybe you could slow them down *a bit* by dropping the voltage
a bit (resistor?)...
