My wife has it figured out.

It's a machine room, and at her insistence, it is the largest room in the 
house. Otherwise, stuff just overflows anyway and we ain't got no garage.

Best part is she is now telling other couples that (one of) the secret(s) to 
marital bliss (17 years in two weeks) is giving up the biggest room.
