For a single IDE drive yes there is currently a limit.  I hear they're
working on an "Enhanced ATA" (or something like that) that will either
raise or eliminate the 138-and-some-odd gig limit.

Not really.  The 138G (or so) limit is only in the IDE command set.  As
long as it's a recent release whatever OS you use the drives with should
pretty easily see more than that if you have (for example) a RAID5 of 80G
IDE disks.

If the card they come up with is cheap but don't suck like the Promise
FastTraks do I think they'll make a fortune just from the geeks buying the
things.
