i'm going to reply to the list since you would be surprised how many
people don't know what these things are (well, i'm surprised at least)

The Storage Expansion box is a large pizzabox(ish) looking thing.  it
resembles the DECstations and VAXstations they are normally hooked up
to.  They hold two drives in them, and have two centronic 50-pin SCSI
connectors on the back.

when i say they hold two drives, i mean that they were originally 
designed to hold two 5.25" Full-Height SCSI disks.  with some
creative metal-work, you should be able to fit a dozen 3.5" low
profile disks in one of these, or maybe a dozen 3.5" full-height
disks.  they are VERY sturdy boxes and have excellent power supplies.
