Sounds like Geist. She has a thing for small confined spaces. THis is in
fact how she got her name.

We rescued her from a pet store (I use the term rescued advisedly) and
brought her hom where she happily spent some time exploring her
surroundings. Within an hour or so she had quite dissappeared. We looked for
her for something on six hours but couldnt find her at all. We didnt hear a
sound of any kind etc... etc...

Anyway I figured she was scared and once she calmed down she would find her
way to the fod we left out. The next morning I went to sit in my leather
recliner, and heard just the tiniest little peep. Turns out that some 18
hours before this tiny little kitten had climbed up into the back of my
chair, and was calmly sitting on one of the supporting stringers. She didn't
make a sound for the best portion of a day. So we decided to call her geist
(german for spirit or ghost).

Ever since then geist has had a fondness for confined spaces. She learned
how to open cabinets, get in, and close them after herself. She absolutely
adores cardboard boxes (for sleeping and for scratching) and she truly loves
the top of the refrigerator in that 4" space under the upper cabinets.

Geist is a mixed breed, part Maine Coon cat and part American longhair so
she has back legs like a hare. She can jump from the floor to the top of our
refrigerator if she has a good start at it.

She also has this eird fetish for clear plastic bags, especially if they
have little kingly metal things in them. She'll pick them up in her mouth
like kittens, and carry them around the house, depositing them at our feet
like gifts.

Heres a pic of her being "devil kitty" www.supergoth.com

Kitty is the box-loving cat. he's a large tomcat, 20lbs or so. if there
is a box, he will sit on/in it. i've caught him in shoe boxes (sides
bending out) monitor boxes, fedex boxes (the official 3" wide ones), pie
boxes. also he loves sacks. he curls up in them.

*shakes head* he's insane...

i wont discuss what happens when we get a 4' square box full of peanuts.

*shudder*
