You're right.  No other os is mature on SGI/MIPS hardware.  That's why I
and many others are working on developing it.  There are no inherent
problems with linux, and no major ones with irix ->EXCEPT<- if you find a
bug in IRIX for Crimson, what do you think the chaces of it ever getting
fixed are?
