[SunRescue] disabling internal speaker on U5

Why not just disconnect it - ther should be a plug on either the
MB or speaker end of the cable, just disconnect it...

Shouldn't really be a problem, IMHO.

Anyone know how to disable the inernal speaker on an
ultra5/solaris8 so
that it will remain off after a reboot (i know, 10 lashes for
even
speaking that word...)?  Disabling it via audio control does not
get
preserved after the system reboots, and even when it is disabled
some
applications automatically turn it back on when they start up
(showmetv
for one, i think).
