   The way I was told, it goes like this: the second letter reflects the
size. An AUI connector is DA-15, a 25-pin serial connector is DB-25,
the old Sun SCSI connector is DD-50, and what is normally called a DB-9
is actually a DE-9. Of course, if you go using the correct letters, nobody
will know what you're talking about, so it's a bit of a moot point.
