Seth,

Try making sure the / is a separate partition and is within the first 2gig
of the drive.

My SS5 hade a similar problem and I found that the PROM version would not
allow a boot from a drive bigger than 2gig unless I did the above.

Sincerely,

Mike Hebel

Subject: [SunRescue] bootblk and Solaris 2.6

I've been trying to get a clean install of Solaris 2.6 on my SS10. The
first one I did was okay, but I wasn't satisfied with the disk layout. I
got my hands on a couple of 4.3G Barracudas and I re-installed from scratch.
The install looked great but now I get a message that says, bootblk can't
find boot program, when I try to boot.

I've done some searching on the net but haven't found anything that will
help yet. I imagine that the fix is simple, but it's eluded me so far.

I'm still getting used to the Sun way of doing things, I've used AIX, in the
past and this is a wee bit different. The little quirks are giving me
grief.

Thanks in advance

Seth Dunehew
