I'm probably going use the system headless most of the time, but if there
are any other sbus based video options I'd like to investigate them.

If its not a 170E (just a plain 170), you're stuck with what you've got.
If you need better graphics, you can always run it headless and use
a  PC with a 24-bit card as an X terminal...
