  Yes, I remember 3.3...it seems that 3.3 on an '030 feels about the same as
4.0 on an '040.  Scary. ;)

  Problem is, building stuff on 3.x is a lost cause.  So...compatibility, or
performance?  I don't like having to make that choice.
