Exactly the same thing as I suspect 90% of everyone here does: whatever it
takes to pay the bills and is reasonably fun.  Sysadmins (or those who
started out as sysadmins) seem to take the Heinlein diatribe on
specialization to heart ("A human being should be able to...").

Seriously though, I make money with hardware, software and optics (not
necessarily in any order).  As far as what I _do_, I try to be a father
and a husband first, and a geek second (a battle I know many of you can
empathize with).
