Wow, when we start a thread we really know how to start a thread huh. Okay,
I have been offline for about 30 hours at this point, so I'm going to
condense all my replys to the thread in one post

1. Wifes name/attitude

My wifes name is Andrea, and she like to be called Drea. She really deosnt
mind the computer stuff all that much, other than the fact that it takes up
so much room.

2. Apple staying in business

Apple stays in business through Steve Jobs's personal reality distortion
field. I thought Everyone knew that

3. G3/G4/iMac
Well my wife wanted an iMac because they were cute, but I want to get her a
G4 because it's WAY more useful. Plus she's used to a 19" screen so going to
a 15" might actually cause her physical pain and psychological damage.

I myself put a dual g4 500 on order the day they announced them, then was
told that I would have to wait six months to get one, so I cancelled my
order. I'm now waiting for the prices to drop a bit more.

4. Various machines, OS's and access

I can offer anyone with SSH, access to a developement environment for IRIX
6.5 and Solaris 8. I have a T1 direct to my house (actually a multiplexed
OC3 goes into the appartment complex with then uses 1.5mb phoneline
networking) so as long as you dont abuse my bandwdith you are welcome to lay
around. In fact I'm gone for the next two weeks so my boxes are unnocupied
right now.

As far as machines go I have hooked up to the net right now two hefty wintel
boxes (one multiboot, one windows ME) an Ultra 10, and three SGI O2's.

Im actually selling or trading the R5K O2's if anyone is interested. I may
strip the analog machine of HDD and RAM to upgrade the R10k, then
selll/trade the machine that way as well.

The O2's I have are specced as follows

1 R10K 150 mhz 128 megs ram, 4.55 gig drive, digital AV option
1 R5K 180mhz, 128 megs ram, 4.55 gig drive, digital AV option
1 R5K 180mhz, 128 megs ram, 2gig drive, analog AV option

As far as what I need, I need RAM for my U10, and a SCSI card, preferably a
RAID card of some type, F/W-U2/3/160 preferred.
I also need 2 256 mg SO-DIMMS, and an FC-PGA coppermine 850 or 800. I'm also
looking for a faster processor module for the R10k system, and 02 RAM in
larger sizes than 32meg. And of course I'm always interested in other
machines or software.

5. Operating systems available

Ok here's my laundry list of OS's I have CD's for. For commercial OS's I'm
only including systems I have licenses for

Windows NT 4.0 server, workstations, enterprise server, small business
server, Back Office server (multiple copies of each)
Windows 95, 95osr2, 98, 98se, and ME (multiple copies of each)
Redhat 5.1 6.0 6.1 6.2 and 7
Mandrake up through seven
Corel 1 and 2 (they didnt actually change numbers)
Storm linux
Debian linux (five different versions)
Caldera open linux (four different versions)
Various other Linux distributions
FreeBSD (several different versions)
NetBSD (several different versions)
Open BSD (several different versions)
Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 7, and 8
IRIX 6.5 with overlays for 6.7 and applications/freeware up to Feb 2000(two
copies)

I am selling my second copy of IRIX 6.5, and I will burn copies of the
overlays and freeware cd's for anyone who wants it. $200.00, or swap for
other interesting equipment or software
