They don't *have* to have MS-based workstations to read their e-mail.
You can turn on the POP and SMTP relay services in Exchange and let
them use Netscape on their Sun desktops.

But if you need to, they seem to have Outlook Express w/ IE5 for Solaris:

I agree that they don't have to have MS workstations just for email - but
(i'm reading between the lines - I've been here for only 3 weeks) the great
hope is that the designers will use Outlook for the calender and schedule
functions.  Given what I've seen of the designers so far, I woulldn't hold
out much hope though - turns out circuit board designers act like
programmers squared.  brian
